‘Bright Future’: Pedersen’s Defiance in Face of -6 Point Start

Sheffield Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen is defiantly optimistic about a “bright future” for the club, even as it starts a new era on -6 points. The Owls were docked 12 points for entering administration, a move filed by owner Dejphon Chansiri.

“When I close my eyes, I can see a bright future for Sheffield Wednesday,” Pedersen said, despite the club now being 15 points from safety. He called the “sad situation” a “good day” because it allows for a “fresh restart.”

The administration ends Chansiri’s tenure, which the Supporters Trust labelled “years of financial mismanagement.” Fans are “overjoyed” at his exit, and seats with his name were quickly removed from Hillsborough.

The club is now being run by administrators from Begbies Traynor, who are marketing the club and stadium as a package. They met with “emotional” staff, with Pedersen hopeful job losses can be avoided.

The Supporters Trust echoed Pedersen’s forward-looking sentiment. After achieving their goal of ousting Chansiri, they are calling on fans to end boycotts and return to Hillsborough. “Now begins the phase of renewal,” their statement said.
